James Curtis is the author of Between Flops: A Biography of Preston Sturges, along with many other biographies, including award-winning books on William Cameron Menzies, Spencer Tracy, W.C. Fields, and Buster Keaton. In addition, he has edited three books on film-related subjects, including a biography of actor Walter Huston. His new book Comedy is a Grim Business: The Making of IT’S A MAD, MAD, MAD, MAD WORLD (Emmarac Editions) goes behind the scenes of the making of this comedy classic. Born in Los Angeles, James Curtis and his wife, Kim Geary, are longtime residents of Brea, California.
