XTC: Ustad Fareed Ayaz & Abu Muhammed Qawwal

Eight centuries of tradition. Two generations. Thirteen musicians. XTC. Vagabond Media presents Ustad Fareed Ayaz & Abu Muhammad with their extended-family ensemble at Symphony Space on November 21, 2026, at 7 pm. Heirs to a 800-year musical lineage tracing back to Amir Khusrau’s disciples, these Qawwali masters unite generations for one extraordinary night. This rare gathering opens with Jawabi Qawwali- an electrifying musical duel between the sons’ troupes, led by Ghayoor Moiz and Mustafa Abu Muhammad- before the elder masters join them for an ecstatic, no-holds-barred performance by all thirteen musicians. Side effects may include longing, hope & joy.
